Meet the Rev. Dr. Charles
Young
The Rev.
Dr. Charles Young was a missionary of the
General Board of
Global Ministries assigned to the Alaska Missionary
Conference. He is now retired.

Reflecting
on his ministry Dr. Young says,
"I
will be the pastor of a congregation in a small seacoast town in
southeast Alaska. The church consciously identifies itself as one of
the more accepting and open congregations in the community. My ministry
will be to support and encourage that ministry style among the
congregation and into the community."
In
his years of service in ministry, Dr. Young
has served as pastor to
local churches, director of a halfway house for adult male parolees,
campus minister and in private pastoral counseling.
He
received his BA from Ohio
Wesleyan University and his Masters of Divinity and Doctor of Ministry
from Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in Illinois.
He
is married to Gerry
Arleta Sexten Young
and they have two
adult children:
Allison and Christopher.
